some nice boys i met online: 2013

THE STORY

So we, Erica & Lillie, were partners in a semester-long school project. Our project consisted of discovering how members of a community can learn about each other online. For our project in particular, our professor encouraged the both of us to join OkCupid.com (to research interactivity through user-generated content). We created actual profiles that accurately reflect our interests and personalities. Because the world of online dating turned out to be a lot of fun, we also ended up joining PlentyOfFish.com. There are a ton of great people that have messaged us, and we have genuine conversations with them. However, we have come in contact with a bunch of weirdos and jerks as well. And so we have decided to showcase those strange, crazy messages we receive. Each of these posts are 100% real.

Here's a little information about each of us that we've included on our profiles. (We're both graphic design majors, by the way.)

ERICA: energetic, giggly, girlie girl (but can totally kick it with the guys), loves cars, loves going out (but is content with staying in), fun, 5'0", non-religious, occasional smoker

LILLIE: perhaps a little intimidating at first, sweet, enjoys photography, outdoorsy, good girl, holds onto her morals and values, athletic, 6'0", christian, non-smoker
